Today, at 08:45 local time, a Ryanair aircraft carrying 55 passengers from Girona landed at Međunarodni aerodrom Sarajevo, marking the first-ever direct flight connection between Sarajevo and Spain.
Upon arrival, the aircraft was greeted with a traditional water salute, and passengers received special gifts provided by the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board. The Spanish delegation, including the President of the Province of Girona, Mr. Miquel Noguer, the Director of Catalonia Airports, Mr. Jordi Candela Garriga, and the President of the Girona Tourism Board, Mr. Jaume Dulsat, was welcomed at Međunarodni aerodrom Sarajevo by the Mayor of Sarajevo, Mr. Predrag Puharić, along with the airport's management.
The launch of yet another strategic air route underscores the successful collaboration between Međunarodni aerodrom Sarajevo, the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Economy, and the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board. This partnership continues to yield positive results, contributing to the growth of tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina and strengthening the regional economy.
The Spanish delegation will stay in Sarajevo for two days, where they will have the opportunity to explore the city's beauty, culture, and traditions and hold several meetings with government representatives.
On this occasion, a press conference is scheduled for April 3 at 11:00 AM at the Sarajevo City Hall.
